I forgot to mention that I saw this film a few days ago on DVD and was completely astounded by it. The story is simple, girl needs money, decides to become drug mule, is pregnant, swallows some heroin pellets, goes to the US to get the money and shit the pellets, done. But the execution is more complex than that. Shit happens and the intensity starts to build. Honestly, my heart was pounding during many scenes of this film. But the film could not be excellent without the beautiful Catalina Sandino Moreno as Maria, our heroine. She truly deserves her Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. This film is as simple as films get but it is also what makes it great.
