MOVIE REVIEWS

Green Street Hooligans: Wow. Elijah Wood has been choosing unusual films to follow his Lord of the Rings part and this is one of them. From start to finish, it grabs your attention. Wood is great in the role of an American journalist in a violent world of British firms. Folks, this is one of the best films of the year. A

North Country: I would be putting this film in my top five of the year......until the stupid fucking cliched ending. OH man. I hate the type of film that starts off so great with production value, acting, and writing but then destroys it all with a sentimental and sucky ending. Apart from great performances from Frances McDormand, Charlize Theron, and Sissy Spacek the standout here is Richard Jenkins, who plays Theron's father. The speech he gives to his fellow miners is absolutely heartbreaking. Just give him the supporting actor Academy Award already damn it. C

Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit: This movie was just plain hilarious. Richard Roeper must be an asshole to NOT like this movie. Apart from the subtle sexual inneundo, I can't stop laughing everytime the bunny Hutch speaks or when I see the Were-Rabbit. I always laugh hard when during the last scene where the Were-Rabbit cheers. There have been many sub-par family films this year and at last there's one that rises above the rest. A
