I finally viewed the Godfather parts I and II the past two days and in my opinion, they are among the finest films I had the pleasure of viewing. Part I is 177 minutes while Part II is 202 minutes but both are among the most immersive viewing experiences I've ever had. They just both flew by. If you have a Blu-ray player, please find these two masterpieces, you will not regret it. The picture quality is stunning and the audio quality is quite decent (despite its limitations).

- I don't know why but I've fallen in love with the music of Missy Higgins. She may like girls (AND boys) but man, she's a cutie.

- I think that Politik is the best song that Coldplay has ever written and performed. The crescendo at around 3 minutes is some of the most beautiful music ever written.

- It looks like Powie has a lot of money. I've been chatting with him quite a lot the past few days.

Fuck that auto-tune shit.

Saw Tarsem Singh's "The Fall" tonight. TWICE. Fuck, it's a major underrated movie that deserves all the praise it's getting from all the critics who loved (which was only Roger Ebert). The visuals are fucking amazing in this movie and the child acting by Catina Untaru is the most natural I have EVER SEEN.

How a fucked up day ended with a shitty (albeit un-boring) movie.

Because I had to record some sounds for my Master Class in Sound Design. I woke up early to pick up some Minidisc cartridges at Guitar Center and to find my dad at home because he's an ass and HAD to eat tendon yesterday. I buy some Hi-MDs from GC and ask the guy, "they work on ANY MD player right?" "Yeah," douche replies. I get home at 10:30 am (my class is at 1pm) and rip open the MD and insert it into the player.

READ ERROR

"What the fuck? How can there be a read error?"

Now I'm getting more pissed.

Then I read the back of the MD.

"Only playable on Hi-MD players."

Douche at GC fucked me over. I look at the back of receipt to find out that to add insult to injury, I can't return the shit because it's already opened (ripped to fucking shreds is more like it).

So I take the pre-amp from school and hook it up to my laptop. I speak into the mic.

"TEST"

There's no signal.

"TEST"

There's still no fucking signal.

I then call up the audio arts and acoustics equipment center. Some guy named Matt answers,

"Hello."

I tell him I'm having a problem with the mic and pre-amp.

"I'm not getting a signal dude."

"Okay, lemme get a mic and pre-amp and go along with you what's wrong."

Then the dude fucking hangs up on me.

I then remember that the phantom power of the pre-amp has to be on to 48V or else the mic won't work. I turn on the phantom power and FUCK YEAH, it works.....but wow, the fucking sound quality is SHIT.

I record my sounds and try to speed up everything but my dad has to slow me down by asking the most stupid questions about a DVD drive he wants to buy. He wants to buy this $1,099 drive and I tell him that it's a fake but he just can't help it. He doesn't buy the damn thing though and I leave the house in a hurry.

Class comes around and I'm the only one despite the fucking shit sound quality to do the assignment properly. At the end of class, he gives us FOUR fucking assignments to do including one paper because we didn't know who Pythagoras, Fourier, or Heinweizt were. My prof's funny but man, I just don't get why the need for so many assignments. This is the reason why I like AVM III the most: there's no assignments and you get to do your job.

I get home, order some McDonalds (I find their Southern Chicken Sandwich to be underwhelming), and watch Doomsday with Wency. Seriously the movie sucks but man it sure is effing violent.

Whoever thinks that the "Love Lockdown" song by Kanye is good must be fucking deaf. I hate that autotune shit. During the end of the VMAs, he performed the song with autotune to the max and he still sounded flat. I hate every fucking song with autotune. With autotune, the artist doesn't even have to try anymore and that's sad.

Saw the Lost Boys again (after so many years) in full 1080p earlier tonight and man, that movie is still crazy great. They don't make movies like that anymore eh?

Saw the Dark Knight with my mom in the theatre on Monday (Labor Day) and she LOVED it. "Daniel, it's ALL ACTION!" There's a fucking quote for you WB.

Louis Theroux from the BBC is currently my new hero. He had the balls to stand up to Nazis, Black Nationalists, and other fuckups on TV.
