Blah. Blah. Blah.

I feel so tired. I really should stop sleeping at 4am.

I don't know why the wireless connection is always getting fucked up. One minute it's on, another minute it's off. It's like the wireless router has multiple personalities. Right now, it's back on but I bet it'll be back off tomorrow again. As for my dad's new computer, the sound card is pretty kick ass. It could replay back 32-bit sound with resampling all the way up to 192k. The speakers suck but what are you gonna do?

Oh yeah, Wency, I was so pissed at you for not teaching me what to do in a situation when the internet fucks up so I blabbered that you weren't going to church lately. Sorry boy, it looks like that you have to face reality...AGAIN.

Did you have a great Easter?

Mine was pretty good. Just ate, watched some Robocop, and slept. That's it.

Saturday was great. The Illini game and the Pacquiao fight replay. If there was one word to come out of that Illini game, it should be miraculous. It was funny because they were down 9 with one minute to go and my dad screamed, "You are losers, Illini! LOSERS!" Deep down within myself I know they wouldn't quit. They came too far into the tournament to lose like punks. If they were going to lose, they were going to lose in a blaze of glory. The thing is, the Illini kept on stealing like Ocean's Eleven and shooting like the Guns of the Navarone. One minute, they were down 15, the next, the game was fucking tied. It was amazing.....even from the television, you felt why the Illini is considered the best collegiate basketball team in the United States. They won 90-89 against Arizona and one picture finally said it all in today's newspaper. An Arizona player breaking down crying in the foreground while Illini celebrate for joy in the background. It was a pic saying more than a thousand words, it was more like a million. The moral lesson of the game: don't ever quit.

The Pacquiao fight on HBO yesterday was among the best I've ever seen. The fight was round for round a war. Pacquiao has his huge heart and Morales his sturdy jaw. You gotta give Morales props though, he knew Pacquiao's weaknesses and exposed him. He won fair and square.

I just downloaded a few songs circa 1996-1998 and they bring back great memories. Oh yeah, I also like what radio station Q101 is doing, playing songs from the past 3 decades using a MP3 player. They used to play Nirvana like 20 times a day and Pearl Jam like 30 times a day but with this, songs from The Verve Pipe, Marcy's Playground, Ween, and others were played through the radio. They should do this everyday.

Some pretty good stuff has been happening for me the last couple of days. My mom, my brother, and I went to the Eli's factory to get some cheesecake. I was shocked at how much the cheesecake actually costs. The small ones, which are kinda big, were only $2. They had imperfections on it but still it was goddamn good cheesecake and it was effin cheap.

Saw a shitload of movies the couple few days.

Ocean's Twelve: Not as good as Eleven but found it to be quite fun. A turn your brain off kind of movie.

The Woodsman: A compelling film with an excellent performance from Kevin Bacon. What really shocked me was the performance from rapper Mos Def. He's definitely a natural actor, unlike Eminem, Ja Rule, or other freaking rappers.

Shutter: Wow. This movie totally blew me away. This is a Thai horror film about spirits and spirit photographers. The story was cliched as times but the ending made my jaw drop. I haven't seen anything like that since the Sixth Sense. This film holds your attention from beginning to end and watching for every crucial detail is a must (something that Feng Shui totally sucked at).

Forbidden City Cop: A film with Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) that made me laugh until I cried. It was so hilarious at times, I had to pause it because I was laughing so hard.

Despite great directing from Hideo Nakata and a fantastic beginning, the Ring Two is even worse than its $129 million grossing predecessor. The script is horrible and there are many scenes that don't connect to the storyline or even make proper sense.
Rating: **

In other notes, Manny Pacquiao lost in an unanimous decision (115-113) over Eric Morales. From the message boards I've been reading it seems that Morales was clearly the winner. I'll be watching the re-telecast on HBO next week.

Hostage was actually pretty good until everything went to shit and one of the villains started moving like the xenomorph from "Aliens." Some scenes didn't even make absolute sense and the ending was just plain weird.

I found the Episode III trailer to be pretty good but nowhere near the best trailers ever made. And yeah, fuck you Lucas. You can cease and desist my ass whenever you want.

Today was a fucked up day. My laptop's hard drive wouldn't work so I started fiddling with it. It works now, but one thing's for sure...I have to buy a new hard drive for my laptop. I found some online and the best bet seems to be a laptop hard drive from Western Digital. Seagate seems to be a great choice but the places to purchase it are limited. A 80 GB HD with 8 MB cache is only $179.99 but I only got $100. Another choice is a 40 GB HD with 8 MB cache for only $85. I really want the 80 GB one then I could put all my albums in it.

Because I was working on my laptop all day, I wasn't able to finish ANY homework. I have a shitload to do for the week. I think I have to make a checklist. It seems like a lot but with all the free time I have I could actually finish everything in 1 day but I'm so lazy. I could have finished everything today but my laptop wouldn't start up properly.

I applied at Wal-Mart on Saturday but because of my school schedule they wouldn't take me. I need money so bad.

House of Sand and Fog is among one of the most underrated films ever made. It's unfortunate that this film didn't get the proper respect it deserves. Ben Kingsley certainly earned his nomination for best actor at last year's academy awards. It's sad he lost to overactor Sean Penn, Kingsley's performance is beyond words in this film. I am shocked because of the ending. My jaw literally dropped after the climax and it still hasn't gone up. I never expected it to end that way. If you haven't seen this film before, you must rent it.

I had to miss my script analysis today because i woke up so late. I couldn't sleep at all last night because of a very painful stomach ache. I didn't know what the problem was until I ate breakfast. The problem was that I was so hungry my stomach began to hurt, really really hurt. The stomach aching went away and I began getting drowsy. I set my alarm to 12:00 pm and slept. I woke up refreshed and surprised that my alarm didn't ring yet. That is, until I saw what time it is. My class is at 2 and it was already 3:32 pm. I forgot to turn on the alarm function. I was so pissed at myself. I was promising myself not to skip classes this semester but now that's off.

I always forget to mention in previous posts that I saw the Machinist starring Christian Bale. That film has to be one of the best films in 2004. I never expected the ending to be that good or that surprising. I kept on thinking about some other thing being the ending but I never expected it to be like that. And Mr. Christian Bale, what a performance from him. I believe that Bale is one of the most underrated actors of our generation who tend to go towards the overrated Russell Crowe or Johnny Depp (he was extremely overrated in Finding Neverland). Bale lost over 70 pounds to look like a skeleton in this film and it's disgusting. I always cringed whenever they showed him naked, UGH.
