Man, I can't believe that R&R Video already closes at 9 fucking 30. I wanna see that Happiness really bad, especially when I heard that there's a hilarious segment about a chronic masturbator. Masturbating is funny kids, touch your balls everyday!

I'm beginning to hate Netflix.

Jesus Christ, the last DVD from Netflix came. It was SUPPOSED to be Happiness but it wasn't. It was Scratch, a decent documentary about DJing. The problem is that I think they jammed any DVD into the paper mailer and mailed it. What assholes, I was excited to watch the movie and I got shit.

I am happy though that my first movie from Nicheflix came. Man, they really take care of their discs. The disc I received looked and felt brand-new and the protection they put onto the discs is amazing.

Movie review

Man on Fire
Director: Tony Scott
Starring: Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, Radha Mitchell, Christopher Walken, and Marc Anthony.

"Creasy's art is death, and he's about to paint his masterpiece."

This film is what the "revenge" flick The Punisher was supposed to be. This film is perfectly cast, mind-boggingly shot, and remarkably well-made. The only problem is the MTV-style editing that Scott tries to convey on the viewer. This film is not of the weak of heart as well, it is extremely violent (yes, even more violent than the best "revenge" film this year Kill Bill: Vol. 2). Denzel Washington is John W. Creasy, an alcoholic ex-soldier assigned to be a bodyguard for Lupita "Pita" Ramos. He ignores her at first but can't resist her charms as they become best friends. That is, until she is kidnapped.

For the past six days, there have been 24 kidnappings in Mexico City alone and Pita is one of them. Because of the thought that Pita is dead, Creasy goes on what The Bride will refer to "a roaring rampage of revenge." Oh, and what a rampage it is. Creasy is methodical, exact, and does what he does best, DESTROY the enemy. There are a few twists that I did not expect from this film and that's a great part of this film. What's not great is that the film could have been edited down to exactly two hours rather than 2 hours, 15 minutes.

Washington is remarkable in this great, conveying some sense on sanity while eliminating everyone in his way. Dakota Fanning, who can get annoying sometimes, is decent and tolerable in this film. Radha Mitchell and Marc Anthony give one-note performances as the parents of Pita. And the great Christopher Walken again gives a classic monologue about Creasy that is sharpy written and thoughtout.

Aside from the editing, this violent free-for-all is one great film that deserves to be seen by the livid filmgoer.

My $0.02

Britney Spears. I hate her. I think she's ugly, really ugly. I don't know why many people find her beautiful when she's exactly the opposite. Her music is contrived, annoying, and irritating. Her latest music video is horrible, just plain horrible.

Would you like another?

William Hung. Mr. Hung, you're starting to get on my nerves. You suck, not just a little but a lot. You can't sing and I don't care if you were honest. There are many more musical acts in the world trying to get a record deal and your horrible singing gets one? What is this world coming to? I hope your album doesn't get 250,000 copies sold. You suck and you know it.

The Punisher. The Punisher is directed by a guy named Jonathan ___________. I really hated this movie. It is a movie made out of desperation rather than jubilation. Thomas Jane gives a good performance but the character's emotions are three things: look sad, look happy, and kick ass. Jane applies all his acting skill here for all three and succeeds. John Travolta, man oh man, what the hell happened to you after Pulp Fiction? Probably Pulp Fiction was just a fluke or maybe because Tarantino was directing it. The direction of this film is horrible, cutting from inane scene to inane scene without any flow whatsoever. The music was horrible as well. It sounded like it came from the new Spider-Man movie or something. If there was anything good about the movie, it's Samantha Mathis, whose face is still the same after all these years. Wow, what a babe, no wonder Frank Castle retired in the beginning of the movie. To get some of that poontang.

Grade: D-

I'd take the Bride over Frank Castle.

I miss you Dolph Lundgren. At least your Punisher felt comic-bookish.

Kill Bill: Volume 2
Directed by Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Reservoir Dogs)
Starring Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Darryl Hannah, and Michael Madsen with Michael Parks

Volume 1 was amazing, with remarkable set pieces and fight scenes. Well, Volume 2 only has 25% of Volume 1's action but 300% more story, more emotion, and more dialogue. Volume 2 is exponentially better than Volume 1. It makes Volume 1 deeper, more resonant, and in other words, a great film even greater.

I loved every minute of this film. Every minute shows that Tarantino's love for each character. All the actors are at their bests. Uma and her character of the Bride, Carradine's Bill, Hannah's Elle, and Madsen's Budd. Each of these characters are deserving of an Academy Award nomination. I loved Gordon Liu's Pai Mei (one of the coolest and funniest characters in film, EVER) and Michael Parks' Esteban Viahio (who is unrecognizable under all the make-up). The final moment of the film is touching and completely and utterly perfect for a film like this. At the screening I saw, many people hated this film because it was considered too slow for their feeble minds. In my opinion, the film went super-fast, too fast, for my brain. Man, I can't wait for the entire 237-minute version to come out in arthouse theatres because this film is among the best I've ever seen.

Grade: A+

Saw Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and it is by far the best American produced film this year. I knew it would be a great film but never this great. I love how everything came together at the end.

I hope to watch Tarantino's delayed Kill Bill: Volume Two tomorrow. I'm pretty hyped to see it because volume one was superb.

"I wonder if you're listening.............

"K - I - D |A|"

R . a . d . i . o . h . e . a . d .

I slip away
I slipped on a little white light

We've got heads on sticks
You've got ventriloquist
We've got heads on sticks
You've got ventriloquist

Standing in the shadows
At the end of my bed
Standing in the shadows
At the end of my bed
Standing in the shadows
At the end of my bed
Standing in the shadows
At the end of my bed

Rats and children follow me out of town
The rats and children follow me out of their homes

Wow, haven't updated in quite a while. Downloading music like crazy today. Especially Radiohead, man they kick ass. Aside from my favorite bands of Incubus and Silverchair, Radiohead is different. Different with a capital D. I never knew that Kid A was such a beautiful song. So beautiful in fact that John Mayer did an awesome cover for it. I have copies of Paranoid Android and Hail to the Thief but I think that Kid A and Amnesiac are their most different works. Most of the songs of Kid A don't even have lyrics, which is quite weird for a band that had a song titled "Creep."

Saw an IMAX 3D film titled Nascar 3D today and one word: sucked. I never knew that documentaries can suck but they do and when they do, they suck pretty badly. I hate Nascar and the film didn't interest me one bit. I hope to watch Kill Bill Volume 2 this Friday when it opens. I've been reading a few reviews and all have been raves, not just raves, but some calling it one of the best films ever made. Damn, even Lord of the Rings didn't get that type of hype.
